The recent rumor is that Amazon is about to offer a movie streaming service along the same lines as Netflix. Amazon already offers a video on demand service where you can purchase videos, store them in your Amazon account and stream them. But this, in theory, would be just “rental” streaming and not purchasing.
Peter Hall from Cinematical offers a great thought:
Compare that $79 Amazon Prime annual cost to Netflix’ $95.88 for its unlimited streaming service. Free shipping and $16 savings? Yeah, that’s kind of a big deal.
I have been an Amazon Prime subscriber for a couple of years. I already think it’s a worthwhile service if you order things from Amazon frequently. Included video streaming would be pretty amazing.
