Dan Mennella from MLB Trade Rumors passes along word that Mark Buehrle has told Scott Merkin that he would approve a trade to certain teams if it’s in the best interest for the White Sox. I can’t see a scenario where they would trade him at all. But especially with the news of Adam Wainwright’s injury, the Cardinals could use another arm at some point this year. Any trade of Buehrle, who is a free agent at the end of the season, would be nothing more than a way to save some cash and get some low level prospect in return.
