Relief pitcher Bob Howry announced his retirement from Major League Baseball. Howry was ultimately the 2nd best player the White Sox got back in the infamous White Flag Trade. What was amazing when I perused Baseball Reference was the fact that Howry hasn’t pitched for the White Sox since 2002, and yet he pitched more games for the White Sox than any other team. Howry’s best seasons were the two years he spent in Cleveland before joining the Cubs.
Howry was 7th on the active list of games pitched when last season ended. With a 3.84 ERA a career ERA+ of 120, Howry was definitely a solid reliever over the last 10 years.
