One thing that has been bothering my friend Dave and I is the concern we have over a Mac App Store-only version of OS X Lion. It didn’t take long for someone to figure out a solution, Richard Austin from BlogChampion:
I have seen many comments from people suggesting you absolutely need Snow Leopard 10.6.6 running in order to successfully install the operating system. I can happily report that is not the case. With a bootable install disc or USB drive, it is possible to blow away your existing OS partitions and start from scratch with Lion.
Austin has the entire steps needed. It will be interesting to see if there is an official Apple way to do this at some point, but if the Developer Beta is any indication, there will at least be some way to do it.
