Shawn Blanc wrote an extremely great review of the HP TouchPad:
I have heard so many good things about webOS that I was truly expecting to be impressed by the TouchPad and to enjoy webOS. Alas, using the TouchPad for the past week has not been impressive or enjoyable. And it’s not for a lack of apps — I was able to find a native TouchPad app for nearly all my “killer app” needs.
It’s tough to determine if that is my favorite quote, or if this one is, which references the TouchPad’s poor Flash performance and lack of alternatives on some pages:
In theory, the TouchPad gives you “the full web”. In reality you get less.
The entire review is worth the read if you have been at all interested in the Touchpad. Shawn is a genuinely nice and honest guy, and despite being an Apple fan he tried really hard to like the TouchPad, but when it was all said and done it’s just not there yet.
Anti-Apple people get tired of hearing about the iPad in every tablet review, but this is just further proof of the reason. The iPad has been #1 for 15 months, and isn’t about to be overthrown.
