Jerry Crasnick from ESPN.com on the 2011 Chicago White Sox:
They rank 12th among the 14 American League teams with 60 stolen bases, and dead last with a 61 percent success rate. And they’re 11th with a .242 batting average with runners in scoring position.
That’s Ozzieball for ya. 61% is awful. It’s an entire 5% less than the next closest team and a full 9% behind the 12th place team. There is almost as much of a gap between White Sox and the 12th place team (9%) as between the 1st and 13th ranked teams (10%).
White Sox pitching has been pretty middle of the pack, but this offense is what really sunk them.
