Carlos Quentin’s Future

JJ Stankevitz of Beer Leaguer on Carlos Quentin’s future with the White Sox:

So that leaves Quentin as the odd man out. He’s had a fine run with the White Sox and certainly was worth Chris Carter in December of 2007. Quentin will end his tenure with the White Sox as the return in one of Kenny Williams’ more successful trades.

At the beginning of the season I didn’t think Quentin was a lock to be gone. We knew Juan Pierre would be gone, but until Alejandro De Aza stepped up Dayan Viciedo was the only other outfielder the Sox had hanging around. De Aza has been masterful so far this season and has earned a chance to start next year.

Quentin will almost certainly be traded this winter, but who knows.
