The one screenshot they have of the new DriecTV UI doesn’t look all that much difference than what we have now, but they do promise performance improvements which are badly needed. I switched from Comcast to DirecTV about 1.5 years ago. At the time, the receiver experience was a massive upgrade. I don’t know what kind of improvements Comcast has made since then, but I remain happy with my decision.
