I have been using the Navigon app for turn-by-turn directions for well over a year now. I don’t use it all that frequently, but when I do I have found it’s interface to be a bit unintuitive. It’s nice to see they are fixing this because I am sure there are less tech-savvy people who find it impossible.

They are also slimming it down by allowing the user to decide exactly which maps to download so it’s more of an as-needed basis.
