Mikael Ricknäs of Macworld:

The price for SSDs (solid state drives) that are going into PCs are expected to fall below $1 per gigabyte during the second half of 2012, further boosting adoption, market research company IDC said on Monday.

If that’s true, this is really exciting news. I am sure I have said this before, but at this point, moving from a “traditional” hard drive to a solid state drive (SSD) is about the biggest day-to-day performance improvement you can make to your computer. Both my MacBook Air and MacBook Pro have solid state storage, and I think it would be hard to go back.
