Game of Thrones Season Two Needs Momentum

Alan Sepinwall:

Or maybe it’s that the game is being played so slowly and carefully this year, and also that it involves so many players. By bouncing from region to region, character to character, season 2 often creates the illusion of forward movement that isn’t really there.

I understand we are going off of a book, and since I haven’t read them I don’t know how this all compares, but I totally agree that this show has very little momentum. Stuff seems like it happens, but it doesn’t. And characters disappear for episodes at a time. With two episodes left, I am expecting big things.
