A new weekly feature where college and pro football meet, the NFL draft. 10 of last 11 teams who got the first overall pick have finished with 2 or fewer wins. There is no reason to think this year will be any different.
These teams got their third win this past week:
- Arizona Cardinals
- Baltimore Ravens
- Cleveland Browns
- Cincinnati Bengals
- New York Jets
- San Francisco 49ers
Somethings Gotta Give
These games feature two teams with exactly two wins right now:
St. Louis Rams at Houston Texans – The only game featuring multiple two-win teams. St. Louis looks really bad. Houston is somehow favored by 9, but if they lose the Bench Schaub/Fire Kubiak talk will pick up.
16 teams are still alive, with one of the two teams from the previous section guaranteeing this number drops by at least one this week. Since next week will put the total of teams still alive under half, at that time there will be a breakdown of all remaining teams.
The Front Runner
The state of Florida continues to dominate. The Jacksonville Jaguars and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are both 0–5 and 0–4 respectively. The New York Giants lost again and now have to play the Chicago Bears on a short week. Tom Coughlin’s name might be coming up in “firing” talks if they drop to 0–6. Pittsburgh is coming off a bye week, but Tampa and Jacksonville still look like the favorites.
