A new weekly feature where college and pro football meet, the NFL draft. 10 of last 11 teams who got the first overall pick have finished with 2 or fewer wins. There is no reason to think this year will be any different.
No teams got their third win this week.
Somethings Gotta Give
No games feature two teams with exactly two wins this week.
5 teams still have two wins or less. Wins are in parenthesis. Each team’s remaining schedule is listed.
- Atlanta Falcons (2) – NO, @BUF, @GB, WASH, @SF, CAR
- Houston Texans (2) – JAX, NE, @JAX, @IND, DEN, @TEN
- Jacksonville Jaguars (1) – @HOU, @CLE, @HOU, BUF, TEN, @IND
- Minnesota Vikings (2) – @GB, CHI, @BAL, PHI, @CIN, DET
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2) – @DET, @CAR, BUF, SF, @STL, NO
The Front Runner
Jacksonville is the lone one-win team at this point. The interesting part of this at the moment is that two divisions contain 4 of the teams still alive for the first pick. Jacksonville and Houston still play each other twice, the first one coming this week. This also means that by the time they play again two weeks from now one of them will be eliminated from the First Pick Watch. Atlanta and Tampa Bay already played twice and split, so that won’t come into play. Jacksonville has the most road games, but only has one more game against a team currently with a winning record. Houston still has New England, Indy and Denver, which is probably the toughest remaining schedule on this list. It’s very possible that these two Jacksonville/Houston games could decide this.
