A new weekly feature where college and pro football meet, the NFL draft. 10 of last 11 teams who got the first overall pick have finished with 2 or fewer wins. There is no reason to think this year will be any different.
- Atlanta Falcons
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Minnesota Vikings
Somethings Gotta Give
No games feature two teams with exactly two wins this week.
There is just one teams left with two wins or less. Wins are in parenthesis. Each team’s remaining schedule is listed.
- Houston Texans (2) – @JAX, @IND, DEN, @TEN
The last time the team who got the first overall pick had more than 2 wins was 2003, when four teams (Chargers, Cardinals, Giants and Raiders) all finished with four wins. After three teams picked up their third win this week, with four weeks to go, it seems headed for at least a logjam at the bottom, with the possibility of no team having fewer than four losses again. In the meantime, the Houston Texans have the pole position. This week’s Thursday night game against Jacksonville plays a major role. If Houston loses they are going to be in great shape to finish last. They go to Indianapolis next. The Colts are still in the playoff hunt and will need that win. Denver comes after that, and probably won’t have the #1 seed locked up by then, so they will be playing to win.
Going to be an exciting finish.
